FAIRAIR DIVISION

The FAIRAIR division is within the holding of FAIRTECO dedicated to consulting, trade and realizations in the field of ventilation, airing and air-conditioning. With special emphasis on Central Europe, FAIRAIR distributes turbine ventilators produced by an Australian manufacturer which are assembled and delivered by an exclusive importer to CEE in the Czech Republic.
Turbine ventilators are the invention of Edmonds based in Australia and established in 1934. After decades of extensive research, development and innovations in the science of the regulation of thermal and humidity load of building constructions which led to the arrival of hybrid turbine ventilators, the turbine ventilators represent the up-to-date pipeless ecological ventilation technology. It is an energy-effective system for natural airflow and cooling by air rinsing of residential and commercial buildings. Turbine ventilators work on a no-cost mode – the operation is therefore completely FREE!

UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY

Turbine ventilators consist of a unit with a sprung frame that prevents deformations caused by crosswind, a support system with maintenance-free sealed and easily replaceable bearings, adjustable articulated throat and a square shaped base. Given the manner of use, turbine ventilators are made of HI TECH materials. Turbine ventilators for commercial buildings are made from ABS and high-resistant marine aluminium on the surface of which any finish from the RAL sampler may be applied. Turbine ventilators for residential buildings are made from cutting-edge UV stable plastic available in 8 different colours. The technology of the systems for natural ventilation by means of turbine ventilators is beneficial particularly for the following 7 areas.

BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTIONS

Turbine ventilators actively extract heat, which accumulates in the walls, attic area, roof and building envelope of a residential building. The result is a decreased thermal load by up to 7°C. Ventilators contribute to preserving the overall stiffness of the structure. They also decelerate the aging of building material by expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. They eliminate the formation of dew point, condensation and moisture, which can cause corrosion, mould, rot or wood-decay fungi, and the like. Ventilators also enhance the effectiveness of heat-insulating materials by way of air rinsing the area which ensures optimal microclimate. 20 litres of air humidity are extracted from residential houses every day. Turbine ventilators shorten the technological breaks during the construction of wet processes by up to 60%. Turbine ventilators extend the intervals of building reconstructions and save the cost of repairs, servicing, maintenance or replacements.

HEALTH COMFORT

Turbine ventilators improve indoor air quality. They increase the comfort of living and working environment. Constant airflow improves the health of buildings. It reduces the frequency of sick leaves. It eliminates rheumatic, respiratory and carcinogenic diseases. It suppresses the formation, occurrence and spread of mites and spores leading to allergies and asthma. Turbine ventilators extract fumes of carcinogenic volatile chemicals released from interior furnishings, flooring and building materials. ENVIRONMENTALISM

Turbine ventilators represent green technology in natural airing – Greenair Venticool System. They are powered by renewable sources of energy which leads to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and CO2. Turbine ventilators are made from renewable or recyclable materials. As opposed to recuperation or air-conditioning, turbine ventilators are non-maintenance technology. There is no need for cleaning or disinfecting turbine ventilators with aggressive products. Using the technology of turbine ventilators decreases electro-smog and significantly reduces electro-waste. The final assembly is done in CEE. Turbine ventilators are imported disassembled whereby more ventilators can be delivered in one shipment. Such a shipment policy also significantly contributes to decreasing of the production of greenhouse gases produced by naval and air transport.

POWER SAVING

The technology works primary on the basis of natural physical forces – wind, differences in temperature, and the stack effect. Airing and ventilating help effectively decrease the consumption as well as save the electric power costs. Turbine ventilators are the perfect accessory to air-conditioning systems. They significantly contribute to lowering the costs of air-conditioning systems operation by decreasing the temperature maxima during which an air-conditioning system must be on. In the case of hybrid turbine ventilators for guaranteed suction, which are powered by a low-cost electronic motor, the daily cost of the operation is in the order of low units of Czech crowns. In this case, the overall power cost saving is up to 93%.

PRODUCTIVITY OF WORK

Turbine ventilators improve air quality and thus also increase the comfort of working environment. The solution systems for commercial buildings bring primarily higher productivity of work and safer working environment. Staff working in comfortable environment tends to be more focused and effective while eliminating error and wastage rate in production. They are also less susceptible to common or lifestyle diseases. Turbine ventilators also improve learning environment in basic and secondary schools, universities as well as in nursery schools.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

Turbine ventilators eliminate the formation and dripping of condensate from the inner side of roof envelope of production halls into production processes. They also lower the level of corrosion on metal parts of constructions and building envelopes, in wet production processes, as well as in water reservoirs, and other types of silos. Turbine ventilators significantly extend the lifetime of materials whereby they reduce demands, and decrease the costs of maintenance, servicing or repairs. Turbine ventilators extract the heat accumulated in production processes in factories or storage facilities. Furthermore they expel smell and odour produced by production processes. They also lower the heat built up around electric and operating devices. In agricultural premises, natural airing decreases the death of farm animals, as well as eliminates stock loss of agricultural and food products caused by putrefaction. The key advantage of this technology is that it can operate entirely without electricity in case there is a short or long-term power outage.

HOW DOES IT WORK

Turbine ventilators represent environmentally friendly and economical systems of active and natural airing. They are based on the fundamental principle of pipeless air rinsing of buildings. This process is powered by natural physical forces consisting of: 1. wind, 2. differences in temperature at the ground level inside the house and at the throat of the turbine ventilator outside, and 3. The stack effect which is, depending on the height of the ventilated area, responsible for up to 60 % of the suction capacity. The resulting suction is not guaranteed as all factors that affect the performance and capacity of the turbine ventilator are not constant. Hybrid turbine ventilators are the solution for guaranteed suction capacity. A European directive, which the independent standard no. ČSN EN 15 665 refers to, specifies the air change values as follows: 1-2 times per hour in a regular house or a block of flats, 5-15 times per hour in commercial and manufacturing premises depending on the nature of the operations. RESIDENTIAL TURBINE VENTILATORS

Higher standard thermal insulation and hermetically sealed construction openings and windows help significantly reduce power consumption for heating. However, it also prevents natural air flow. And it is healthy ambient air which is the very key to our home comfort. A family of four produces an average of up to 20 litres of atmospheric moisture per day. The technology of turbine ventilators reduces the amount of moisture, volatiles, CO2, and deadly carbon monoxide. As the only one on the market, it actively fights to remove carcinogenic radon.
In the summer months, turbine ventilators reduce the thermal load of roofs, attic space, and also of residential areas provided regulatory elements such as valves and grilles are used. In residential buildings, ventilators extract the heat and smell built up in pipe risers and elevator shafts, etc. The result is a reduction in the thermal load of up to 7°C.

COMMERCIAL TURBINE VENTILATORS

Turbine ventilators improve the working conditions in offices, storage facilities and production areas. Solution systems for commercial buildings bring increased labour productivity and safer working environment. Staff working in comfortable environment tends to be more focused and effective while eliminating error and wastage rate in production. They are also less susceptible to diseases. The technology helps to effectively reduce electric power consumption on ventilation and airing. This leads to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Turbine ventilators remove heat from the production processes in factories, and moisture from wet production plants. They also prevent condensation dripping from the inside of the roof into the production hall areas. Turbine ventilators also improve learning environment in schools and universities. They extract smells and odours. They lower the level of corrosion on metal parts of constructions and building envelopes, as well as of water reservoirs, and other types of silos. Main advantages of commercial turbine ventilators

1. The stability of commercial turbine ventilators is given by their special design and unique form of the radial impeller. Older types of onion shaped turbine ventilators are suitable for operation only up to the size of throat of 400 mm in diameter. Larger diameters of this type of turbine ventilators are susceptible to deformation by crosswind. 2. The resistance is determined by the specific design and special double sealed bearings, which make it possible to manufacture the turbine units in 150 mm to 600 mm in diameter. The turbine ventilators are designed for wind speed up to 240 km/hr. Turbine ventilators made from a highly durable titanium material are designed for extreme and heavy duty. 3. Suction capacity – the radial impeller has a 3 times higher suction capacity than a conventional turbine ventilator with an onion shaped unit. Therefore, a turbine ventilator with a radial impeller is a suitable solution for commercial premises with a ceiling height of +5m. This type of turbine ventilators has exponential capacity. This means that the Hurricane 600 turbine ventilator corresponds to the power of three turbines with a diameter of 350 mm. 4. Efficiency – due to their design, vanes of turbines with radial impeller around them are substantially larger than the turbine ventilators with an onion shaped unit. That is why they work effectively even in light wind conditions as opposed to the obsolete onion shaped units.

HYBRID TURBINE VENTILATORS

Hybrid turbine ventilators are environmentally friendly HI TECH solutions developed to ensure a constant supply of fresh air with minimum energy use. It combines natural ventilation with a high efficiency electric motor in a single unit. The turbine ventilator has been developed in cooperation with EBMpapst – the world renowned German producer of EC motors. Hybrid turbine ventilators make use of both the radial impeller with backward curved vanes and the EC motor as the powering unit. The motor is installed on the top of the unit ensuring minimum flow obstruction for maximum air movement.

Hybrid turbine ventilators operate in two modes:

1. Non-guaranteed - The turbine ventilator is powered by a renewable energy source that is inherently non-constant. However, the operation of the ventilator is 100% free.
2. Guaranteed - The turbine ventilator is powered by an EC motor. The result is a guaranteed suction performance based on a constant power supply ensured by the motor and the design of the ventilator unit. In powered mode, the running cost of the turbine ventilator is reduced by 75% compared to standard motors. EC motor is a single-phased motor with electronic commutation. The strong points of EC motors are: extremely low power consumption at 1/3 of conventional motors, several times higher lifetime due to construction, running stability – electronics compensates for voltage fluctuations in the network, power supply 220V/50 Hz.
